Job Description

About the role:

We have a fabulous opportunity to join our ANZ Sales team as a full time State Retail & Education Manager. This role onsite in our VIC state Concept stores and Department store locations.  

The State Retail & Education Manager will be accountable for creating a Best-in-Class Service culture and achieving budgeted sales in line with the ANZ Sales and Marketing Strategy.

You will achieve commercial results by providing strong leadership for Retail and Therapy business, coaching and inspiring Jurlique Retail team and Therapists to deliver best Jurlique Service Model.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Model Delivery

  • Lead by example ensuring Jurlique Beauty Experts and Beauty Therapists are competent and engaged to deliver Jurlique Service Model excellence and meet retail requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Education team to observe during store visits and provide recommendations for service improvement.
  • Monitor all customer feedback (formal and informal) and use the opportunity to coach and/or celebrate with store manager and team.
  • Build relationships with Dept Store managers to ensure Jurlique Service model is consistent and adapted to the right channel and model.

 

Sales Education In-field coaching

  • Lead ‘Train the Trainer” coaching to Store Managers through Huddle a Day, Buddy with the best, through Observing, and clear Target and KPI setting.
  • Maintain store staff results & output by coaching, leading employees through planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Lead the productivity and development of top performers by setting commercial goals
  • Identify PR/ Marketing opportunities and collaborate with marketing team to execute
  • Actively build the VIP base for the region, provide targets and drive capture by door in line with Sales and Marketing Strategy
  • Document the coaching conducted in field regularly in a shared system for easy recollection and follow through with the Education team.

 

Team Development

  • Maintain store staff results & output by coaching, leading employees through planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Coach Retail Store Managers with onboarding & inducting new employees into the business.
  • Provide and execute a succession plan within the region to ensure key talent is recruited and retained.
  • Lead the Performance Management of all team members; upskilling Store Managers in P&C related issues to manage before escalation.
  • Lead the Performance Development Review process.
  • Provide and execute a succession plan within the region to ensure key talent is recruited and retained.
  • Support the Return to Work and rehabilitation process and if required take be appointed to the role of Return-to-work Coordinator.
  • Coach and develop store managers to understand all facets of their business related to sales promotion and cost to create and protect profit

 

 

Store Plan – Commercial Excellence

  • Ensure correct stock is present and correct any gaps in collaboration with Sales operations
  • Oversee and provide guidance for product pricing and stock management for all channels, including the management of returns and adhering to retailer specific procedures
  • Ensure completion of quarterly stocktakes and take action to improve shrinkage/overall stock security.  
  • Manage Visual Merchandising and displays in accordance with set guidelines to achieve commercial results
  • Deliver sales for each channel in line with commercial targets and monitor/ benchmark KPI’s for each door in line with ANZ strategy to achieve consistent growth.
  • Manage the recruitment process for retail from requesting the job ad from P&C, reviewing and shortlisting applicants, interviewing, reference checks and finally offering the role.
  • Maintaining the payroll function for your state, by ensuring the payroll approval process is managed and completed in a timely and efficient manner. This includes but not limited to completing/finalising timesheet approvals, leave approvals, requirements for commission payments and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Supporting the Retail Store Managers and Counter Managers with Rostering requirements, being approval, creation in some cases and ensuring labour to sales are in line with business requirements for effective rostering.
  • Manage strategy presentations for department stores by finessing the presentation deck to suit the local store needs, present to your state department stores in a professional and enthusiastic manner, follow through with goals set for the year, negotiate with the sales managers on behalf of the business when it comes to hours, brand placement or marketing support and build strong relationships as a result.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

Knowledge & Skills

  • 5+ years' experience as an Area/Territory Manager ideally within beauty, luxury, fashion or Retail environment.
  • Strong sales and service experience in a retail environment
  • Demonstrated Multi-Site Management experience ideally in skincare or Cosmetics /Fragrance/Luxury
  • Qualification in Retail, Financials, Training and Skincare would be advantageous
  • Demonstrated retail acumen, drive and organizational skills
  • Ability to coach, influence, lead and develop team members;
  • Interstate travel required.
