Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Global Brand Marketing team as a full time Head of Product Development. 

As the Head of Product Development, this role is responsible for designing the product strategy, developing new products and innovations, managing the existing products, with the objective of increasing sales and improving customer experience and engagement with Jurlique’s brand and product.

Areas of Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for supporting the Global Brand & Marketing Director in defining the 3 - 5-year product development plans for the business, improving existing portfolio, driving innovation that addresses the needs and requirements of our customers in each market.

Create product strategy:

  • Provide relevant consumer, competitor and market insight to support the development of a relevant and competitively compelling innovation pipeline.
  • Remain up to date on emerging and future trends across all relevant industries to identify and grow business opportunities, leverage key insights gleaned from a refined analytics practice to inform decisions.
  • Do regular analysis on portfolio performances (by category and SKUs) to create recommendations
  • Develop hero SKU strategy
  • Create and develop the 3–5-year category management strategy

Responsible for new product developments:

  • Propose and develop the new product launch strategy and ensure alignment with relevant stakeholders
  • Build the yearly NPD calendar
  • Build product/range concepts
  • Prepare NPD (New Product Development) briefs in partnership with formulation team and Product & Packaging Technology (PPT)
  • Responsible for PPS meeting presentations and maintaining gate process 
  • In consultation with Technical Development teams, develop engaging content, including claims, for individual SKU’s and franchise, for the Jurlique consumer
  • Responsible for the realisation of the primary and secondary packaging artwork (work on product names, claims, usage, marketing text)
  • Manage the product pipeline across R&D, formulators, packaging, production teams to ensure OCD date and production
  • Work with international operational marketing teams to provide full and any relevant information to prepare a successful product launch
  • Manage the SKU pricing in line with competitors and markets situation
  • Responsible for the launch product book

Responsible for managing existing product portfolio:

  • Optimize SKU and range performance
  • Ensure continuous improvement in the Return on New Product Development Investment.
  • In collaboration with marketing and brand functions ensure Jurlique continues to offer the consumer unique products, in alignment with our heritage as pioneers, as a trend setter.
  • Manage the ongoing SKU rationalization and the development of the Hero SKU strategy and implementation.
  • Manage Retail, Sample, Spa product lists: rationalization, SKU deletion, new sizes creation, pricing
  • Propose limited editions to create sales opportunities
  • Take actions to improve current portfolio performance (changes/improvements in positioning, names, packaging look, marketing claims)
  • Coordinate with related teams to bring to life these actions

Team management and coordination:

  • Lead, guide, and coach across the team of Marketing Development Product Managers
  • Effectively collaborate with R&D, formulators, packaging team, regal/legal, production
  • Effectively collaborate with leaders in international operational marketing, campaigns & brand teams, visual merchandising, and creative and markets to create and deliver best in class and unique results that align to the Jurlique brand story.

  • Experience in Product Development for a Natural Skincare company required
  • Master's degree in marketing required
  • Demonstrated experience working in a Global structure
  • Passionate about natural beauty & skincare 
  • Strategic, conceptual & creative mindset

  • Collaborative team player with the ability to inspire and influence stakeholders.
