Job Description

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Global Brand Marketing team as a full time Product Development Manager. This role is hybrid based in our Sydney Office 3 days per week with 2 days from home.

The Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for supporting the product strategy in all product marketing-related activities, for new and existing products. This role is pivotal in driving end-to-end new product developments or improvement, from concept to launch to meet or exceed market expectations and commercial targets. You will oversee each stage of development with precision and excellence, engaging various stakeholders across the business, meeting deadlines, budget and product quality requirements.

 

Areas of Responsibilities:

Product Innovation and Strategy

  • Implement the Product Strategy from new concepts, to target claims and brand rituals.  
  • Constantly innovate with market research for new product ideas to fuel the product strategy

New Product launches

  • Propose and develop innovative, customer-centric, commercially relevant Product or range Concepts while creating a compelling unique selling proposition.
  • Build new product brief in collaboration with key stakeholders and aligned with the product strategy and commercial objectives.
  • Define Product Line-Up and Recommended Retail Price based on brand positioning and competitor benchmark
  • Become the product expert, driving NPD Meetings, stakeholder engagement and partner with Project Manager to achieve timely task completion from key stakeholders
  • Partner with Research & Development, Regulatory and Legal teams to achieve strong compelling range and product claims.
  • Provide complete product launch book and partner with activation, education, marketing teams to ensure strong launch

Existing Product Portfolio

  • Perform post-launch, quarterly and yearly qualitative and quantitative range or product analysis with internal and external data
  • Become the expert of the range and category you are responsible for, leveraging insights into strong business opportunities
  • Drive continuous improvement on all possible aspects: alignment to product strategy (packaging, formulation), line-up (addition, limited edition, delisting), financials (cost reduction, margin improvement), product features, or assets.

Consumer and Market Insights

  • Regularly perform extensive industry, customer, markets research to nourish future product concepts
  • Deep dive into market research to uncover latest consumer or industry trends
  • Align with market pulse, keep a close eye on competitor activities, develop extensive knowledge on the beauty market, perform store and market visits to identify opportunities and threats

Project Management

  • Lead and manage all stages of the product marketing lifecycle, from concept through launch.
  • Maintain timelines, track key milestones, and manage budgets to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders to maximise time and achieve required milestones.
  • Provide strong problem-solving skills to mitigate risks on project execution

  • Master/ degree in Marketing required
  • 5 years+ experience in product marketing
  • Strategic thinking, ability to conceptualise, creative and innovative mindset
  • Rigorous, strong attention to detail, analytical
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaborative mindset
  • Customer-obsessed with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Passionate about natural beauty & cosmetics, experience in beauty or skincare is a plus
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Engaging and convincing presenter (in written and orally)
  • Exceptional project, time, stakeholder management, ability to forge strong relationships across multiple teams
  • Growth driven mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
